For this project, we’re taking our paints into the kitchen. Here’s a quick recipe for making sparkle paints.

Supplies:
- Table salt
- Flour
- Water
- Poster paints
- Squeeze bottles
- Mixing bowl
- Measuring cups
- Paper (preferably thick paper)
Steps:
- In a bowl, mix together equal amounts of flour, water, and salt.
- Divide the flour mixture into clean squeeze bottles (disposable cups work too).
- Add a few tablespoons of paint to each bottle and shake well.
Now you’re ready to paint. It’s best to use paper meant for painting because of its sturdiness. Squeeze paint on or use a brush. Though, I did find that the squeeze-on method created a more distinct sparkly effect. Allow your paintings to dry thoroughly. This paint is a great way to add both sparkle and texture to your paintings.

The salt in the paint creates texture to your picture.

Squeezing on the paint gives your picture some dimension and sparkles.
Hang your paintings up and enjoy!
