The Yarny Night
Traditionally yarn crafting involves knots and needles. But in this craft we’re using it as an art medium. This method makes good use of your leftover skeins of yarn.
Materials needed:
- Yarn, a variety of colors
- Glue
- Scissors
- Card stock
Steps:
- Start out by cutting yarn into several pieces. They are easier to handle when they’re about 6 to 8 inches long.
- Work on your picture one section at a time. Apply some glue to a small section. Then lay on the yarn. Cut yarn as you go to get the right length. Straight lines are good for outlines. Use spirals or zigzag shapes to fill in empty space. Press gently on the yarn with your fingers. Â
It’s also a good idea to keep a moist towel nearby because your fingers will get sticky.
Feel free to use your imagination and create whatever pops into your head. Naturally, my daughter made her favorite garden fairy.
Have fun!
